Wine Club Ideas

Themes can vary depending on your group. Here are some ideas to choose from:

Wine Tasting 101: how to swirl, sniff and sip wine. We’ll go through the basics of wine tasting and appreciation. We’ll discuss  the aroma wheel and the classic characteristics of certain varietals. You’ll learn about terms such as acidity and tannins.

Comparing specific varietals to each other: comparing a few wines of a certain varietal such as Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon to each other. I can pick wines from varying price points and we can decide how much price matters, or not.

Food and wine pairing: Let’s taste wines with foods that work, and don’t work with wines.

These are just a few ideas to give you an idea of what’s possible. We can discuss your level of wine knowledge and budget to determine what’s going to suit your wine club.

The theme in August was Whites for Summer.

Here’s a photo of the selection that we had. The wine club wondered how I managed with a wine budget of $140. Although there were some definite stand outs there wasn’t a dud in the bunch. They were pleased to find out that these were all well priced!

From bubble to Rosé – a selection of crisp to luscious wines.
